Butter London Wallis

Okay ladies I have not made time to post in the last couple weeks mostly because of work but also a busy week of birthday celebration.

Butter London(http://www.butterlondon.com/)! I have only had one manicure from Butter London in the Seatac airport and the color I chose was just so pretty; Blowing Raspberries ($14). I literally still think about the color, I did not however on this occasion buy that color as another one has been raved about by several of my favorite

Youtube vloggers:

And I had also thought about buying because it is one of my favorite shades of green ever. It's called Wallis ($14); the color is a olive metallic micro-shimmer green. When I got home and swatched it on my nail art wheel it was a close dupe for a color I bought a few weeks ago at Rite Aid from CQ called Golden Green 542($1.99). It doesn't have as much gold metallic as the Butter London color, it's closer to a olive green with gold shimmer undertones.

China Glaze Awakening

Okay ladies this is by far and away my favorite polish! This color just brings a smile to my face every time I see the photos or really even the bottle of polish. Its a light purple/pink mash up with a gold undertone. So pretty! I also added little clear jewels to my thumb nails.

See what I mean *Chills*!

Clear Base: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth.

Color Polish: China Glaze in Awakening.

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Twist Ombre Nails

So this continuing trend with creative nails is the Ombre nail. I think if it's done right it can look very chic or funky and if done wrong it can look sloppy. Because this is my first experiment with Ombre and I'm not completely sure I like the result yet. I changed the accent nail three times but I couldn't find the right color to go with the style. Anyway you can be the judge and I'll work on my Ombre skills.

Clear Base: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth.

Thumb Nail: Sonia Kashuk in Ooh La La. As you have probably noticed I am a pink polish fan and I like this color but not the formula. It chipped easily and needed several layers to make the color become vibrant even though its a pretty opaque color. I also had a clear jewel on the corner of the nail.

Index Finger: OPI in Nomad's Dream. From the moment I saw this color two years ago I feel in love. On the OPI site they says its a, "starlit mauve" but it doesn't look at all mauve or in the purple family at all. It's more of a golden beige with green undertones in the sunlight. This color is so fabulous and natural.

Middle Finger: Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails Extreme Wear in Golden-I. This color is gorgeous, long lasting(as it claims) and goes for any season. I'm always a little skeptical of drugstore polish but I have a couple of the Extreme Wear colors and I love them.

Ring Finger: Sinful Colors Professional in Soul Mate. Tip color, Sephora Nail Design Pen by OPI in Gold #C29. As I said before I changed the "accent nail" three times first because this failed my expectation and I really don't like the pink. I unfortunately didn't take photos of the other accent nails I changed to and because I did this nail last month I can't remember what colors I used.

Pinky Finger: Sinful Colors Professional in Flirting Nails. This color is pretty and in my opinion made for a base color under a brighter contrast polish or shatter paints. I originally bought this color so I could try the news paper trick that is all over Pintrest and hopefully in the near future I'll be able to try that.

Valentines Day Nail

Yep I know I'm a day late but lucky me I was in Canada for work :). I'm apparently starting a trend of spending holidays in Canada. Anyway I spent a long time trying different looks but finally settled on a cute heart theme. I hope everyone felt really loved and cherished yesterday. And if you are single and didn't get "something" know that you are loved regardless of the physical manifestation of a present.;)

Clear Base: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth.

'Underwear' Color: Ulta Nail Lacquer in Goddess. This color is very opaque for the first two layers but after that it turns into this tangerine pink shimmer. Surprisingly great color.

Hearts: All nails but my middle finger Zoya in Anaka and Orly in Rage. Middle Finger Sinful in Soul Mate, Zoya in Anaka and Sonia Kashuk in Oh La La.

Sparkles: Essie in A Cut Above. I noticed that the more layers I put on the deeper the pink color turned the one downside is it's a pain to get off.

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Honestly I didn't really like this look. While yes it's cute it didn't turn out exactly like I was picturing. I am new at the design side of nail art so I will just have to continue practicing. Which honestly is what I would recommend for nail geeks, just keep practicing and your hands will steady the more you paint your nails.

Zoya Anaka

Okay ladies today is a girly pink day! When I bought this color I loved it online, then swatched in person, but seriously on my nails this color is gorgeous. It's the perfect combination between pink, red and a bit of shimmer. And with the sparkle tips it just pops (I'm on a serious sparkle binge this month). I also think this would be perfect for Valentines day which is just around the corner so if you are looking for the right lovely nail color go to Zoya.com and buy at the very least the base color; Anaka ($8+Shipping).

Clear Base: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth.

"Underwear" Color: Zoya in Anaka. Perfection!

Sparkle Tips: Zoya in Kissy. I did an earlier blog review on this color. Basically its a clear base with red, pink and rainbow sparkles. It's a one coat wonder color.

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Zoya Dannii with sparkle

I wore this color over the last week. And would have continued to wear it but after I worked for three days it was chipping and a mess. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look and am so excited that I combined these two nail colors on a whim. I was a little skeptical of this Zoya color because I had a not so great experience with the Zoya Joy polish. By not so great I mean it didn't last long before it chipped. But this color held up really nicely and the only reason I imagine it chipped when it did was because I was constantly opening soda cans for work. If you haven't read a past blog, I'm a flight attendant and it's hard to keep my nails good for long when I'm opening latches, soda cans, overhead bins etc.

Sadly I was gone all week working and didn't get a chance to take a good photo so sorry that the one I took is darker than I would have liked. I did take a swatch photo of the top sparkle polish; in Frenzy by Sinful Colors; just to give you an idea of how amazing this color is.

Base Clear: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth

"Underwear" Color: Zoya in Dannii. A pastel candy pop purple with gold undertones.

Sparkles: Sinful Colors in Frenzy 922. I don't know if I can fully explain how lovely this color is! It is a clear base with light purple and teal sparkles in it. This is a loaded, gorgeous color that spreads nicely and only needs two coats to get lots of sparkle flecks. LOVE IT!

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

A little nail sunshine on a cloudy day:)

I live in the Oregon state and it is rainy 7-9 months out of the year, so I felt like I needed a bit brighter color because it's been very gray outside lately.

Clear base: Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth.

Color coat: China Glaze in Thataway (093). This color in the bottle is a peachy coral color and on my nails it looks more orange with coral hints. I'm a little disappointed with it not being more of a coral color. If anyone has used a good coral color that has a pinker base let me know.

Sparkle tips: Sinful Colors in All About You (921).

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

Zoya Pink Day

If some of you don't know a few weeks ago Zoya Nail Polish gave away two free nail polishes, any color from the site except their newest sets. So of course I had to jump on that deal. I just got my colors last week and finally got the chance to try them out.

These colors are AMAZING, bright, very pigmented. I'm not sure how long lasting they are yet because I just put it on yesterday, so far so good :). One thing I love about Zoya is they offer swatches of their colors. It's great if you're not sure what the colors actually look like. (I got a few in my order and I'm glad I did because two of the colors I don't like for my skin tone.) It does cost money to get what they call "color spoons" but it's only .50 cents and shipping is free. They put that money back in your Zoya account for use on future purchases.

Go check their site out, you won't be disappointed:

So without further ado my newest colors.

Clear base: Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth.

Color: Zoya in Joy. This color doesn't fully show up on camera, it's of course a bright pink but it also has a subtle gold shimmer. So pretty!

Accent Nail: Zoya in Kissy. This also doesn't fully show on camera, it's a clear base with tons of different size sparkles. In the light it has small red sparkles, long skinny purple sparkles and then larger skinny sparkles that are rainbow.

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

New Years Eve Nail

I actually wore a different base color for New Years Eve but I was out of town and didn't have my camera and my nails got ruined from work. If I haven't mentioned it yet I'm a flight attendant, working with opening lots of different locks and levers and cans my nails get ruined easily.

Speaking of that if anyone has suggestions on how to make nail polish last in a 'high chip' possibility job that would be great.

I used my typical base nail polish, Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth.

Color base is: Silver Snowman in Chunky. I got this color at Fred Meyer although I have only ever known it to be available at Rite Aid during the Christmas season.

Sparkles: Sephora OPI in Spark-tacular!. I am so crazy in love with this color, it's got every color in small and larger sparkles...amazing with any base color.

Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.
